Jury Team vs. Jacqui Smith
Why are we attacking the Home Secretary?
Jacqui Smith, as Home Secretary, is responsible for policing and crime in the United Kingdom.
She should be setting an example of what it means to abide by both the letter and the spirit of the law.
Unfortunately, it seems that the Home Secretary has acted in a way that many people would find to be immoral, if not illegal.
She has refused a grace-and-favour apartment in order to continue claiming the ‘Second Home allowance’ that has put almost £100,000 of taxpayers’ money into her personal account, whilst staying at her sister’s house.
She receives a salary, as both MP for Redditch and Home Secretary, that totals over £140,000 plus expenses.
Those expenses cover a £40,000 salary for her husband, Richard Timney, as her assistant. They also cover the cost of an expensive bathroom in her Redditch home, as well as a couple of pornographic movies – all paid for using your taxes.
We think that it is disgusting that a politician should seek to maximise the cash they can claim, whilst voting to keep that information private.
We think it is wrong for politicians to feather their nests at our expense, protected by the hierarchies of the political parties.
We think that politics would be better and cleaner if real people from outside of the political class became our elected representatives.
We are running a national open primary to try and make British politics more democratic, more accountable, and more democratic.
With your support, we will replace the troughing pigs who currently represent us with candidates chosen from amongst the people, accountable only to the people.
You get the politicians you deserve.
Vote for change or stop complaining.
